[OpenJDK 2D-Dev] Fixing JDK-8231556 and JDK-8214536

Hi Phil,

I see on JIRA that you had a look at the drawString / fractional metrics
issues [1] right before Christmas break. Is there anything I can do to
help? Test cases, documentation, follow-up investigation... just let me
know.
