Hi,

I used the 'expand' command which expands tabs to multiples of 8.

The default indentation in OpenJDK is indeed 2, but this is separate
from the tab character which usually tabs to multiples of 8, unless you
set your editor/terminal to a different setting.

Are you aware of specific instances where the source has been
misformatted due to tab expansion?

All the best,
Ed.
