Hi, Andrew
Not sure who told You about Azul's view.
For us it is not that clear what make sense for You.

We have to decide this by consensus. Azul seem to be happy enough to
drop their own port and work on this one from Oracle: their work is
new and rather immature, so it makes sense. In the case of AArch64,
the situation is much less clear. We have a fairly mature and solid
community-written (not just Red Hat!) implementation, and there's no
obvious reason to push that implementation aside. It is the official
AArch64 port of OpenJDK.
I'll be posting more in the coming weeks.
Andrew.
