[aarch64-port-dev ] gmake error when cross compiling

How strange. That's the result for cross_compile (not the normal make) on
your machine? Stumped.

What distribution are you using? Since I'm running this in a VM anyhow,
it's probably the easiest to just get as close as possible to the same
setup as you have.
