I don't think it's in progress. There is a separate CR to create 
vectorizedMismatch: https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8193806 and 
another cross-platform enhancement to consider joining the 
implementations in java, x86 and aarch64: 
https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8202783

No.  These are all unreviewed patches so far, but I plan to publish some 
transcedentals soon.
