I'd replace Java 9 with JDK 9 as the latter is something you can 
actually test against. I'd also replace 'compatible' with 'tested on 
Early Access builds' or a suitable shorter form (tested, checked, ready, 
validated, OK,  etc.)

That way you go from something sounding rather vague from the 
perspective of an application/library developer/user to something that 
makes more sense in the context and the time today, where we're actively 
reaching out to people to test on JDK 9 Early Access builds, a fair 
amount of time before it's actually released.
