On the LLVM side, please see 
http://llvm.org/docs/CodeGenerator.html#disassembler for platform 
coverage details.

A simplification opportunity regarding developer workflow in the LLVM MC 
case is that the LLVM team provides binaries of their toolchain for some 
of the more popular platforms that can be challenging to cross-compile 
for, like Windows and OS X.
