Yes, this is a nice idea.

IcedTea is already the base for most downstream Linux distributions,
but we don't have the resources to offer a build farm or binaries, so
I can see value added in this case. You should really try to sync up
with Jiri about that.

For the windozer stuff, Alex Kashchenko is working on that, it may
make sense for you to sync up with him too, I think his work is quite
advanced at this stage:
