In fact, it's often beneficial to adopt a __ClearlyHideousSyntax for
prototyping or semantic discussions, because it sends the clear
signal that we are not painting the syntax bikeshed yet.  If you
pick a merely ugly syntax, someone is liable to waste bandwidth
trying to fix it for you.  No shame, we've all done it, but let's not…
