From mark.reinhold at oracle.com Wed Apr 2 19:01:33 2014 From: mark.reinhold at oracle.com (mark.reinhold at oracle.com) Date: Wed, 02 Apr 2014 12:01:33 -0700 Subject: hg.openjdk.java.net project and per-project repository lists Message-ID: <20140402120133.478052@eggemoggin.niobe.net> http://hg.openjdk.java.net now displays a list of Projects rather than every single repository on the server (or, more annoyingly, a "503 Service Unavailable" error). http://hg.openjdk.java.net/$PROJECT now displays a list of all the repositories for $PROJECT; e.g., http://hg.openjdk.java.net/jdk9 . The non-root repositories of Mercurial forests are indented so as to make the overall list easier to read. Please report any problems to ops at openjdk dot java dot net. - Mark From mark.reinhold at oracle.com Fri Apr 11 16:08:47 2014 From: mark.reinhold at oracle.com (mark.reinhold at oracle.com) Date: Fri, 11 Apr 2014 09:08:47 -0700 Subject: OpenJDK Governing Board 2014 Election: Results Message-ID: <20140411090847.217205@eggemoggin.niobe.net> I'm pleased to announce that the nominees to the two At-Large seats of the OpenJDK Governing Board have been ratified [1]. The Device I/O Project would implement a generic device peripheral access API for Java applications running on embedded devices, providing APIs for common peripheral devices currently found in embedded platforms such as GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, USB and others. Currently, developers are forced into writing JNI code in order to access these elements. We intend to provide a Java level API for developers to use instead and to keep the public API consistent across Java SE and Java ME, although this Project will initially only support Java SE. I have been in Oracle's Java SE Organization for over 15 years and have been Oracle's Java SE Embedded Lead for the last 9 years. The initial Reviewers and Committers suggested here are made up of representatives from Oracle's Java SE Embedded and Java ME development teams. The initial Reviewers will be Jen Dority, Riaz Aimandi, Alexey Konstantinov, Thierry Violleau and Jens P?tzold. The initial Committers will be: Andrey Petushkov, Petr Panteleyev, Sergey Nazarkin, Vladimir Danushevsky, Derek White, Gary Collins, Pavel Safrata, Kinsley Wong, Bill Pittore, Dean Long and Lubomir Nerad.
