Where are we on 64 bit build

Michael, I am using Mac OS 10.5.5. After I made a few changes, the build 
is ok now. Also I noticed that the flag to make 64 bit VM is no longer 
to be BSD_OVERRIDE_ARCH=amd64 as pointed by Landon's page. Instead 
LP64=1 is working just like we do for other 64 bit platforms which is good.

I am going to do more testings before I propose the change. I am 
thinking to check in these changes to our open jdk 7 tree. After that, 
your folks can make the merge.
