These are good instructions.  On OpenSuse 10.3 
openjdk/hotspot/src/share/vm/ci/ciMethodBlocks.cpp needs to be patched too.

I am not sure how to create the correct patch file.  

Will these patches be included into icedtea?  They seem to be valid patches
for all platforms.
