Problem building OpenJDK on a set-top box

As the build docs state, you need a working version of Java in order to
build the JDK--this is called "bootstrapping".
There was some traffic on this list a few days ago about doing exactly the
same thing, and some of the discussion there suggested using IcedTea to do
the build, since (apparently) it can be built without processor-specific
dependencies (IIRC). Might check the archives here for those links.
