FW: ATL headers and libraries?

Kelly, et al—

 

Should we just wait with the attempted port until this (see below) happens?
Or do we want to try and actively remove the dependencies on ATL/MFC from
the Hotspot code?

Unfortunately, no, there is no way to get to ATL and/or MFC without buying
VS Std/Pro/etc. (of course, you can get those through your MSDN
subscription, etc.)

 

For the future, though, the plan is to ship both ATL and MFC (x86, I
believe) in VC++ Express at some point.

Can you tell me (or put me in touch with somebody who can) if it’s possible
to get a hold of the ATL and/or MFC headers and libraries without buying
Visual Studio Standard/Professional/Enterprise/etc?  I have a client who’s
looking to see if they can use just VC++ Express to maintain some code that
uses ATL and MFC.
