It keeps failing. What how can I find out what the other reason for failing is?

Could it be related to this message?
  Linking vm...
  /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lstdc++
  collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
which is a bit odd given that I have the latest libstdc++ installed...
