Sure, go ahead and test it. The easiest way might be to check out my 
branch in the jdk9-sandbox, ihse-testmakefiles-branch. There are slight 
differences to the published patch but none that really matters. (Most 
noticeably I have introduced a constantly failing test in gtest for 
testing purposes.)
