I would prefer to have no undefined behavior from the beginning. However, if you don't feed comfortable with it, we could file a follow-up issue. I don't think there's much to investigate because there's no alternative before we get [JDK-8336664](https://bugs.openjdk.org/browse/JDK-8336664).
