It is the reason why I didn't ask to use `@throws` which is the preferred way.

Anyway, #7644 with [JDK-8282473](https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8282473) will bring consistency and all `@exception` tags will be replaced with `@throws`.
