No; I'm not sure how to check that with 100% certainty. Does anyone know of a resource to confirm how older Mac UI's looked? (I don't have access to a Mavericks machine (which should pulse) or a Yosemite machine (which should not pulse).)

Wikipedia says the pulsing was discontinued with Yosemite:
