That's disappointing, if true. I like Java. I think it's great that
the JVM supports other languages as well, but I plan to continue to
write code in Java and use script occasionally when it's more
efficient/intuitive (again, using the right tool for the job).

To me, that is completely counterintuitive. I *absolutely* expect
interoperability, and, from my experiences so far with Rhino, Groovy,
and Scala, it is quite well supported.
This is probably the wrong thread for any further discussion on this
topic, though.
