Apparent generics compilation bug new to Java 1.7

Great, thanks for confirming. There's always the possibility you've just
turned temporarily and immensely stupid, and it seems to occur with
alarming frequency  when mailing a public list!

Should I file a bug report then, or has this been previously raised?
