I've been able to compile the attached test case in 1.5 seconds, but I have to bump up the compiler stack size as follows:


javac -J-Xss2M CompilerIssue.java

Sorry, I was trying out the wrong test case. With the correct test case JDK 9 javac finishes in 2  seconds w/o any need to increase stack size.
