From kuester at cs.uni-bonn.de Mon May 19 05:08:45 2008 From: kuester at cs.uni-bonn.de (Christian Kuester) Date: Mon, 19 May 2008 14:08:45 +0200 Subject: Basic Useage of JCK Message-ID: <20080519120844.GB8334@localdomain> Hi List, I'm trying to get some JCK Tests running against the OpenJDK 6 Distribution. I have downloaded the R/O-Licensed JCK Files, since I was assuming I can use those with the new license on the OpenJDK Website. 1) Is there another Distribution which has more Files, since the Interview-Classes seem to be missing and the .jti Files on the OpenJDK website are complaining about that. 2) If not, which is the correct way to aquire JCK for my Project. 3) If I'm wrong and everything is correct and I'm just missing some information to get JCK running here, where is a good starting point to use the provided jti files with JCK and OpenJDK 6 Thanks :-) Chris From David.Herron at Sun.COM Mon May 19 05:58:46 2008 From: David.Herron at Sun.COM (David Herron) Date: Mon, 19 May 2008 14:58:46 +0200 Subject: Basic Useage of JCK In-Reply-To: <20080519120844.GB8334@localdomain> References: <20080519120844.GB8334@localdomain> Message-ID: <48317986.6020202@sun.com> Christian Kuester wrote: > Hi List, > > I'm trying to get some JCK Tests running against the OpenJDK 6 > Distribution. > I have downloaded the R/O-Licensed JCK Files, since I was assuming > I can use those with the new license on the OpenJDK Website. > > 1) Is there another Distribution which has more Files, since the > Interview-Classes seem to be missing and the .jti Files on > the OpenJDK website are complaining about that. > > 2) If not, which is the correct way to aquire JCK for my > Project. > > 3) If I'm wrong and everything is correct and I'm just missing > some information to get JCK running here, where is a good starting > point to use the provided jti files with JCK and OpenJDK 6 > > > Thanks :-) > Chris > The license on the jck.dev.java.net site says you can only use those for reading. As you say that is the ReadOnly JCK. For a runnable JCK there is a different newer program. http://openjdk.java.net/groups/conformance/ There's a page for some .jti files .. http://openjdk.java.net/guide/jckAcquisition.html This page will eventually tell you how to acquire the JCK. http://www.sun.com/software/opensource/java/faq.jsp#k In the meantime those FAQ pages appear to be the information you're seeking. There is a special license to use for access to a runnable JCK for the usage as you say. I believe the FAQ will answer your questions. - David Herron
