Maybe this fix would become obsolete, if charset would be re-designed, but for future enhancements, 
I have in stack, this fix is mandatory.

Anyway, I don't this change would harm anything, as I've seen in the sources of JDK1.6.0_14, that 
similar changes have been made to java.lang.System.java there.
