Doesn't the 8-space-indentation rule on continuation lines serve for that problem?
I tend to have the contraire problem, searching for the terminating brace of the signature, when it
is "hidden" in the very left corner.

Correct, but I was thinking, if including the formatting in this changeset at all, then do it perfect.
