I would strongly advise against dropping JMH. Maintaining the benchmark
with JMH is the way to overcome many of the benchmarking pitfalls we
would introduce with custom tests. Depending on Guava is the blocker
though, since we can not have this dependency in OpenJDK before prior
legal review.
