I don't see anything obvious in the changes of this PR that would affect x86-32, but i ain't a HotSpot expert. Perhaps this just exacerbates some existing bug?@sviswa7 what do you think?

My sense is to proceed, and problem list the failure, and attempt to find the source of the failure.
