So, the recent changes relate mostly to improving test coverage and some fixes that were made as a result:
* Reused tests from another PR with similar ambitions
* Added convenience methods for being able to use a MemoryLayout directly
* Added thread check in `Frame::allocate" preventing inadvertent sharing across threads
* Broke out a test and marked it in a ProblemList (macosx malloc problem)
* Adding overrides to the usual `Object` methods for `BufferStack`
