This is a very self-deprecating change. We should ask Dr. Deprecator what he thinks about it, especially since he's acquainted with Stuart Marks, whose authorship is also being removed.

In all seriousness, people can be touchy about changes like this. FWIW, when we made a similar change in the `jdk.javadoc` area, we carefully captured authors being removed; see https://bugs.openjdk.org/browse/JDK-8235435
