Installing openjdk over Sun Java 6 stops printing of PDF files

Thanks very much Dalibor.

I had just started reading the man update-alternatives and am glad there 
is a Java specific man page.  Although I've been using Linux for 10 
years now, I never even heard of 'update-alternatives'.  After a while 
I'll start understanding it <g>.

I've begun to suspect my problem has nothing to do with Java as CUPS 
doesn't use Java at all AFAIK and, not only can I not print an email 
attachment opened with kpdf, I can't even print saved pdf files with 
anything but evince.
