Just so you know, Problem solved, sort of

Thanks to Andrew Haley, who told me how to run a system trace. It turned 
out that system.loadLibrary was adding a "lib" prefix as well as a ".so" 
suffix. When I changed the name to louisutdml it found all libraries. 
Now it can't find the methods, but that's a more straightforward 
debugging problem.
