I agree. And this has always been the case. Even with GNU Classpath and
GCJ, which are also distributed under the GPL (+ specific exceptions).
As long as the tit-for-tat share-alike nature of the GPL is respected.
GNU Classpath and GCJ have been distributed with millions of desktops,
servers, embedded devices, TVs, settop-boxes, etc. Likewise is OpenJDK
(and the IcedTea derivative) embedded in various commercial GNU/Linux
enterprise products, all while respecting the GPL of course, and without
any interaction with any Sun sales group. That is precisely what Free
Software allows.
