That's a good idea, but the thread so far wasn't very conclusive on 
contributors embracing such a task, unless I have misread it.

Note that I'm not saying it's not worth doing, but I'd like to read 
something more than 'build it and they'll come' to understand why a 
crowd sourced from contributors would scale at that task. 

Numbers showing how well that works (or doesn't) with the IcedTea bug 
tracker and those from downstream distributions for OpenJDK packages 
could be an interesting data point, for example.
