Oracle will disc.. Itanium

One way would be for Intel to join the OpenJDK project with the intent to
provide support for their CPU architecture.  Yes?

I believe that Intel has a software group whose role is to work with other
organizations to ensure various software packages work well on Intel's
hardware.
