Not really - that's an choice you'll find the need to make in many 
large & successful open source communities, like the Linux kernel: 
http://vger.kernel.org/vger-lists.html 

With more then 300 new mails going out onto OpenJDK lists every day, 
having one mailing list for everything would be rather impractical for 
many OpenJDK developers - and the needs of many outweigh the needs of 
the few (at least in this case ;).

In the particular case of this bug, you can see that the Component field 
is 'core-libs' and that's a pretty good hint that the changes would be 
discussed on the core-libs-dev mailing list:
