We did in fact push strongly for openjdk.org way back when, but then the
edict came down from Sun’s C-suite that “you can have any domain that you
want, as long as it ends in ‘java.net.’”  So I parked openjdk.org myself
in 2006 and transferred ownership to Oracle when the time was right.
