<div dir="auto">Hallelujah!<div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">The version of mailman that we are on is an obstacle in all the worst ways. So much feedback hasn't been given on the mailing list <u style="font-weight:bold;font-style:italic">PURELY</u> because of how outdated and broken the tools are.<div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">For suggestions, I guess LSoft's ListServ? It feels overkill.</div><div dir="auto"><br></div><div dir="auto">But that said, just go to mailman 3. I only suggest LSoft because alternatives were requested. Mm3 is the obvious correct choice here. The obvious pain points are gone in 3. Plus, it adds a whole bunch of super useful features WHILE simplifying the migration process. For example, it has its own search feature built-in -- something desperately overdue, so much so that community members started building their own solution to fill in the gaps [1]. We are investigating migrating <a href="http://mail.openjdk.org" rel="noreferrer noreferrer" target="_blank">mail.openjdk.org</a> away from Mailman 2. The<br>
OpenJDK mailing lists (<a href="http://mail.openjdk.org" rel="noreferrer noreferrer" target="_blank">mail.openjdk.org</a>) have run on Mailman version 2 since<br>
the OpenJDK Community was founded. Mailman 2 moved to maintenance-only mode<br>
in 2015. Today it is considered legacy software, used by a dwindling number of<br>
communities.<br>
<br>
Having surveyed the alternatives, the best candidate for replacing Mailman 2<br>
appears to be Mailman 3. Does anyone know of other alternatives we should<br>
consider?<br>
<br>
Thanks,<br>
Iris<br>
