Thanks, I wasn't aware of that (I helped find the bug but wasn't
involved in "fixing" it).  I guess we'll wait for a proper patch.

The symptoms are different, but I don't have any other ideas.  Knowing 
that lesstif on x86_64 has caused problems in the past with AWT/Swing, 
it would help to at least rule this out... and since we haven't seen 
this problem on Fedora, I suspect a difference in a system library.

Can you try setting the ALT_MOTIF_DIR env variable to point to OpenMotif 
and recompile, then see if this problem persists?
