For IcedTea, the OpenJDK/GNU Classpath hibrid shipped by GNU/Linux
distros we did already convert gcjwebplugin to work with openjdk. That works pretty nicely. It was
integrated into IcedTea 1.3
And now actually ships with Fedora RawHide and in other distros

The main thing missing is liveconnect/javascript interaction. I thought
Tom had a plan for that involving Rhino (the javascript implementation
written in java), but I don't really remember the details (and I am
hoping Tom will correct me if I am wrong).

For now there is one open bug report against it involving percentage
height/width params:

It needs lots more testing of course.
