That would be a good idea, collaborating around one version/package to 
begin with, but I have a good feeling that we might end up needing 
multiple versions of netbeans platform depending on which apps are going 
to depend on it. I know for one that VisualVM will only run on platform7 
(in netbeans 6.0.1).
