Could you set "username" in your local ~/.hgrc file as follows under the
[ui] section (or just add the below as is if you don't have a ~/.hgrc
file yet)? That would help the icedtea hg server send correct emails and
match your commits with your public address.

See man hgrc (5) for lots and lots of other options to set. But the
above should be enough.
