Thanks Gary, I thought it might be this because I remember that
building rt.jar was the process that took a long time
when building on ppc64. For clarification, building rt.jar for the
main stage involves running the jar program that was
built as part of the openjdk-ecj stage and which uses the version of
HotSpot built by that stage.
