icedtea plugin console

Hi,

I have a Java applet that works using the proprietary Java plugin by
Sun. The same applet fails when I use icedtea (Ubuntu intrepid
icedtea6-pulgin).

I would like to trace the code where it fails. The easiest way would be
to open a Java console window when the browser activates the applet. Is
there a way to configure icedtea to open such a console?
