I'll be the first to admit I know little about nss, but it looks like you're
absolutely correct as some others have had similar issues:

May I suggest that you post these details (or simply a link to this bug) in a
new nss bug on the Red Hat bugzilla:

I'd do so myself but it's not my itch to scratch :D   (more importantly,
someone with more intimate knowledge of the issue could contribute more
meaningfully to the report).
