As of today I cannot see any updates which should not be applied to the branch.
I'd like to have the --with-additional-vms option as part of the release.  The
one known outstanding issue is the cacao-no-mmap patch, waiting for feedback
from the cacao maintainers.

I cannot comment on the state of shark, but being able to build shark with
recent llvm versions would be a plus.

Is the cleanup for the original hotspot planned for inclusion in the release as
well?

The CVE's for the batch of security patches should be mentioned in the NEWS
file, not sure which ones ...
