I confirm that after building locally the latest IcedTea release, I don't have
the problem anymore:

[mbaudier at alma icedtea6-1.6]$ ./openjdk/build/linux-amd64/bin/java -version
java version "1.6.0_0"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.6.1-r2c854193cc9d) (build 1.6.0_0-b16)
OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM (build 14.0-b16, mixed mode)
