pushing patches for bugs 504, 506

Hello.

So, I would like to push patches for these 2 bugs into icedtea:

I already uploaded the patches in bugzilla, so that you can 
look at them.
I have discussed the changes for bug 506 here:

Should I go ahead and push them?
