Hello all, 

I've updated to QT4 (from 3) but this made no improvement. 

I've since installed GDM and have now been running sessions under Gnome
(2.28.2) and have edited a couple of OO docs without any hassle. Perhaps the
problem lies under the hood somewhere with KIO... I have no idea :-)

I'm happy to help debug this if asked... either that or I'll stick with Gnome
until OpenSUSE11.3 comes out and do a fresh install then :-)
