I understand the constraints with using the RHEL package.  From the perspective
of diagnosis, it would be useful to know if the same failure occurs with a
newer version.  I'm not saying you have to switch to it.

However, I'm not convinced this is related to OpenJDK anyway.  The stack trace
shows a failure in the native libraries.  You say you downloaded the native
libraries from somewhere?  Is there not source code to build these libraries
instead?  While they may work in the test suite, I think they're causing your
Eclipse crash.
