This is a bug in the applet. The issue is that it is unable to find
sun.plugin.dom.exception.InvalidStateException. That class is part of the
Oracle specific plug-in implementation and is not in IcedTea-Web. 

Furthermore, adding a stub does not help as that in turn leads to this error:

java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Unknown operating system, Explorer can
not launch on Linux

The same error is seen with the proprietary Oracle plug-in.

Please contact the listed feedback address (eotss at jpl.nasa.gov) to get this
issue resolved.
